Arrogance…it’ll fuckin’ kill you

Yep. It will. Stop thinking you’re the cats pajamas because you have 50k followers on Instagram or Twitter. No one cares. That 16 year old kid from the burbs who takes selfies of himself in front of his mom’s 2012 s500 has 250k followers and gets paid 3000 dollars per weight loss tea post. How much do you get for your carefully curated feed of god knows what? Nothing. Get off the hype train and get on the hard work bus. Social media sucks. It’s a waste of time for 98% of you. I don’t care about that cool l33t bot that you run in the background that everyone else runs these days. Its like the high school talent show that never ends. Don’t be that hard bro club promoter you hated in high school. Unless you know what you’re doing (and I bet most of you don’t) quickly stop before you waste time that you’ll never get back.

If there is one thing we learned from the past 6 years of being in the field doing all of the work that you’re here to read about is that there are no shortcuts to making money online. The best analogy I have is like rolling a joint. That is the first place I learned there were just simply no shortcuts. You just have to perfect your method and then refine it with practice. There is NO substitute for experience. Over and over. That’s where confidence comes from, not from some vanity metric like how many other posers are following your IG or Twitter account. Reading all the SEO guides and joining $900 mastermind courses aren’t going to help you out in the long run. They might give you some quick tips and tricks, but if you don’t understand how it all pieces together – you’re going to fall flat on your face. All that you’re doing is enabling someone else to make money.

Don’t assume you know more than anyone else until you prove that you do – by making money.

WTF is a coach anyways?

The cool thing on the internet today is to “be a coach.” A SEO coach, a sales coach, a wizard coach, a goat coach, a coach of god knows what. Coaches are just people who did a little bit of work and think they can take their knowledge and slang it to you. Don’t let them. You wouldn’t let the little girl on the corner selling lemonade sell you a class on profitable business just because she makes $2.55 on Saturday morning would you? Stop joining those “free limited time webinars” they exist to trap you, to hook you in, to give you a little drip of the heroin you’re looking for.

Absolutely anything that someone can get you to pay money for by using their “lead magnet” they will. The internet has turned into a cesspool of marketers. Opt-ins, roadblocks, gated content, and everything else under the sun just exist to separate you from your money. Keep it. Spend it on things that actually bring a return, not something that could bring a return if you do it exact right just like the guy who sold you it. If he’s selling it to you, he’s selling it to 1000 other drones – erhm – I mean people.

Experience is the only thing that matters

The minute you think you can side step experience and skip right to printing money you’re letting your arrogance get the best of you.  Catch yourself before you fall into the trap. Start a website, try shit, fail a lot, but learn lessons along the way and refine your methods. Rome wasn’t built overnight. Rand failed for 10 years before SEOmoz became profitable. YOU AREN’T ELON MUSK. Learn to put in the hard work on your own and you will be 2 steps ahead of all those other jabroneys trying to make a quick buck with amazon affiliates selling cheap low ticket items you can buy at 7-11 or by selling some janky product off a CPM network. Speaking of CPM networks – since when do you need to be “approved” to sell a shitty knockoff product? That’s the epitome of arrogance right there. Please sir, I have a lot of internet marketing experience, let me trick people into buying that horrible weight loss product  you’re slangin’ on your network. Huh? I think not.

Snip, snap, snipe bitches – we’re back.
